Before the Museum existed, Damanbir spent years travelling across India and Pakistan, documenting sacred trees tied to Sikh history and Gurudwaras. What began as personal research grew into a larger conviction — that these trees deserved to be preserved, not just written about.
That vision, along with support from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, became the Museum of Trees in 2010. Today, as Chairman and Chief Curator, he continues to guide its direction, with the next generation of his family now carrying that same commitment forward.
